Meet our director

Teek Burnette, Director

Teaquila Burnette, known as “Teek,” was born and raised in north Georgia.  Teek’s family has a long history at both the Learning Center, and First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Her mom, Vicky, worked at the center for years, and brought Teek with her.  Teek has essentially grown up at the Learning Center! She is a proud member of First Cumberland Presbyterian, having joined as a child. She attended Dalton State after graduating with honors from Gordon Lee High School.  She began working with The Learning Center (then known as the Child Development Center) in August of 2001.  Since that time, she has worked in every single room and with every age group at the Learning Center, including managing the kitchen! Teek took over in an Assistant Director capacity in May of 2022, and took over as Director in October of 2022.

Teek is happily married to her husband, Jay, and is the proud mother of a son, Andrew.  She is also a doting dog mom to Chip and Buster. She is currently attending Chattanooga State Community College pursuing a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education.

Teek’s love for The Learning Center runs deep and she feels it is her second home.  After all her years of dedication, she knows this is where she’s meant to be!
