First Cumberland's campus comes alive with the sounds of summer once the weather warms up!  The Cumberland Youth Foundation was founded in 1958 here at First Cumberland to serve the area's children.  Current ministries under the CYF include The Dayplayers Summer Camp, The Cumberland Currents Swim Team and management of our Olympic sized swimming pool.... all located on the campus of First Cumberland Presbyterian just steps from the church itself.  We invite you to come find your spot in the sun at First Cumberland this summer...  we'll save a seat for you!

a Day in the life of a dayplayer camper!

Dayplayers campers have been having fun in the sun since 1958 here at First Cumberland!  Dayplayers is a primarily outdoor camp and is device-free! Our goal is for your child to experience summer as it should be- outside in the fresh air alongside friends new and old! 

Here are SOME of our daily activities:

-campers bring 2 snacks & lunch - eaten outside under the pavilion (snack bar available)

-multiple swim times in the Olympic sized pool

-chapel time

-organized games (morning) and

-free play (afternoon choice) games

(games include 2/4 square, basketball, ga-ga ball, bound ball, kickball, tetherball, and many games played on our 6 tennis courts)

-inside games/movies (depending on weather)

Options include:

-swim lessons

-swim team

-snow cone truck on Fridays

The Cumberland Currents is a summer recreational swim team here at First Cumberland sponsored by the Chattanooga Area Swim League (CASL). Swim team members will compete against 3 other teams in meets throughout June and half of July with the season ending with the City Meet where all the teams across the city compete against one another.  For more information visit the Cumberland Currents website by clicking the swimmer icon to the left.

Click here to see the pool gate admission and membership rates as well as hours of operation. All memberships are sold at the gate. The pool will be open weekends only beginning August 2, 2024 through Labor Day, September 2.  Our last day for the 2024 season will be September 2.

Pool Party pricing, availability and booking are done at the pool by speaking with our pool manager.  


Private swim lessons are not available this summer.
